Communism in CHINA
China became a Communist nation in 1949. Within a few years all missionaries were expelled, church buildings were closed, and thousands of Chinese pastors were imprisoned. Many lost their lives. My mother saw missionaries leave Nanyang in the early 1950s. She never forgot the tears in their eyes as they headed for the coast under armed guard, their ministries for the Lord having abruptly come to an end...In my home area of Nanyang, believers were crucified on the walls of their churches for not denying Christ. Others were chained to vehicles and horses and dragged to their death (Yun 20).
Communism is man's attempt to create the world into a perfect society, at least, as much as possible. In a communist society, everyone is considered equal. Everyone receives equal shares. Money is redistributed so everyone has the same amount. Resultingly, the poor are brought up to middle class status, and the rich are brought down into middle class status. On the other hand, however, the government owns all property. No one really has personal belongings. Communism is a very government based society (Hoyt).
