What is Christianity all about?
Christians' goals should be to glorify God and enjoy Him forever. What does this mean? It means that they should make it their priority to believe, honor, and love God in all they do. Everything they do should be what He has asked His followers to do: to trust and love Him with a full heart. A well-known Bible verse that the reader may have heard is John 3:16, which states, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life" (The Holy Bible ESV). This is a verse that states one of the major conclusions Christians believe. Christians believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, that He came down to earth in human form, lived a perfect life, and died the death that paid for the debt of sins. Everyone sins. No one is perfect. This is why people need Jesus. He died so that we can live with Him forever in Heaven after we pass away from this present life. Romans 6:26 says, "For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." All people deserve to be separated from God after death (this is called hell), but whoever believes that Jesus is their Savior will go to live with Him forever (which is called Heaven). Jesus did not remain dead after He was crucified, however. He rose back to life on the third day, fulfilling a prophecy spoken long before He came to earth. Because of this truth, Christians no longer live like the world. They do not live sinfully, but instead, dedicate their lives to make Christ the focus of everything they do. Most people make themselves their focus. On the contrary, Christians live for God. They love Him, and as a result, obey His commands.
